The movie is about a volcano named Dante’s Peak. Dante’s Peak hasn’t been active in many, many years, but scientist Harry Dalton (Pierce Brosnan), who specializes in volcanoes, is certain that the sleeping volcano is about to erupt. Harry and the mayor of the city, Rachel Wando (Linda Hamilton), would like the city to be on alert, but Harry’s boss is not very supportive due to the regional economy possibly getting hurt, in case the volcano does not erupt. Finally, Dante’s Peak starts to get active and the town is panicking. Everyone is trying to get out of town to save their lives. For Harry and Rachel it also becomes a race against time. They still need to save Rachel’s children and ex mother-in-law. |
